Pitch.

Television series Called “Detective Max”
The series is like Inspector Rex meets Hot Fuzz and The Naked Gun.

Synopsis.
A Country Detective and his K9 Partner are in denial about the way they lay down the law, the Senior Sergeant of the local police station has given them numerous chances in the past but now they are on the last to prove that they are Detective Material.

It’s a story about a Detective and his Dog that have been called out of suspension to help the already stretched police force of a country community. Their Guns a blazing Shoot first ask questions later attitude are not welcome in this quiet secluded area, so they have reluctantly been given one more chance from the Senior Sergeant to prove that they can do the job properly and by the books. Their first task is to investigate a house that is under suspicion by the local authority, but Detective Peter Jones and Detective Max give in to there old ways and mistakably do the job their way.

Who: Involves a 28 year old male Detective called Peter Jones and his 6 year old male dog Detective Max.
What: They are detectives in a country town in Victoria.
When: Now

The Genre would be a comedic Action series based on a dog and his owner.

Detective Max (The Threat of The Masked Men) – Treatment

The Main Conflict.
The main conflict is during the middle of the episode where Detective Peter Jones and Detective Max arrive at the suspicious house and come under fire from The Masked Men. They both return fire and search the house for what ever evidence they can find.

Subject of Story.
The subject of the episode is The Treat of The Masked Men where Detective Jones and Detective Max are asked by their Senior Sergeant to investigate a house that has had some weird and suspicious things happening around it.

Action Sequences.
The action sequences are taken at a country style house, an office building and on roads.

Main Characters.
Main characters are,
· Detective Peter Jones – Male, 28yrold, single.
· Detective Max – Male, 6yrold dog.
· Senior Sergeant John Baker – Male, 50yrold, Married.

Climax.
The climax of the episode is when Detective Peter Jones is caught off guard when looking at some evidence in the suspicious house and a the leader of The Masked Men group holds a gun to Peter’s head. Peter is forced to drop his weapons and with no back up on the way all is looking grim, but from out of the blue and unnoticed by the leader of The Masked Men group Detective Max Jumps from behind a couch and disarms the leader, and therefore saves Detective Peter Jones.

Resolution.
The resolution of the episode is when Detective Peter Jones and Detective Max are able to return the evidence.

7 Step Outline

Detective Max

The Setup – Its 10am and Detective Peter Jones and his partner in crime fighting Max are asleep at home when Peter’s mobile phone rings. Peter answers and his “Vacation” he is told has been cut short. The police senior sergeant has a job for him and wants the duo to begin work again. Peter and Max arrive at their police headquarters and Peter enters the Senior Sergeants Office. The Sergeant tells Peter and Max of the job that needs to be investigated, just on the outskirts of town.

Inciting Incident - The Sergeant sends Peter and Max off to work, but warns the two that it’s there last chance for them to do the job by the books and as cost saving as possible otherwise they will be reduced to office work or a new career.

Act 1. Turning Point – Detective Peter Jones and Detective Max are in the car on the way to where some suspicious things have been reported to be happening. Peter informs Max on what the situation is and gets angry because its there last chance and he blames Max for most of those reasons why they have only one more shot at this. After a moment of thought Peter apologizes to Max and tells him of the presser he is under from the Senior Sergeant.

Mid Point – Peter and Max arrive at the house where suspicious activities have been happening, and straightaway Peter and Max go to there own style of enforcing the long arm of the law. They speed ferociously up to the front door of the house and open fire. But Peter and Max get more than they bargain for and the people occupying the house are a super group of masked villans that don’t want nosey cops around there place messing up what they are doing.

Act 2. – As Peter quickly but cautiously exits his car he becomes under fire from the masked men, he radios back to the police headquarters for backup. Peter can’t wait for backup because he is in a vulnerable spot. He fires wildly into the house and quickly approaches the front door. He opens it and calls Max over to enter the house to open a can of whoop ass on the masked men. Peter enters after Max to lend a hand and they both take down what they believe to be all the masked men in the house.

Act 3. – After all the gun fire has subsided and all is quiet, Peter slowly walks out to the middle of the lounge room to a table that has a dozen or so silver bags on it. Peter picks up a bag and opens it. The bags are full of a substance that looks like Cracked cocaine, Peter puts the bag down and then all of a sudden a voice is heard from across the room. Its another Masked man and he has a gun pointed to Peters head. Peter is forced to put his gun down and surrender. But out of the blue Max runs from out of nowhere and lunges at the masked mans neck. The Masked man slowly suffocates and keels over. Peter picks up his gun, Tells Max to stop and checks to see who this last man is. As Peter Takes the balaclava of it reveals that its Peters Evil identical twin brother, Peter although shocked pulls himself together and finishes the job off, he calls his Sergeant and tells him of the news.

Resolution – Peter and Max are at home after a hard days work and Peter sits on his bed and starts talking to Max about the day. Peter states that they had been fired and banished from the Police department, Peter stays upbeat about the whole situation and looks down to Max to reveal that they didn’t give all the criminal evidence back to the police force, as the camera shows that Max has passed out with a bag of drugs next to him and a white substance is all around his nose. Peter looks at the camera with a smile and then picture fades to black.

One Line Synopsis – Detective Max and Detective Peter Joans are a Crime fighting Duo that don’t follow the rules of the police force. They are on there last chance to keep there jobs otherwise its office work or a new career.

Genre - Parody of Inspector Rex, The naked gun, starsky and hutch and Hot Fuzz.

Premise - Detective Peter Jones and his sidekick MAX have hit rock bottom and are on there last chance to prove to there Senior Sergeant that they are the right people to bring crime to its knees in a popular country town, Even though there ways of enforcing the long arm of the law have proven to be expensive and suspicious, with there guns a blazing shoot first and ask questions later attitude.
